Are the skins you download .rmskin extension types? If they are that type, it appears Rainmeter .rmskin skins are NOT correctly associated to be opened by SkinInstaller.exe. that is installed with Rainmeter.Anytime I download a skin it automatically opens it in a notepad and when I open it, it has a lot of random text I'm not sure how I am supposed to fix this. If anyone knows what I can do please help me.
I would suggest downloading a fresh copy of Rainmeter from https://www.rainmeter.net/ and re-installing the program.
If .rmskin types still open with notepad, then you may need to go to Windows settings and in 'Apps', select 'Default Apps' and scroll down to ''Choose default apps by file type', locate .rmskin in the list and set them to open with 'SkinInstaller.exe' from the folder where you installed Rainmeter.
